A lot of traditional events take place throughout the year in the area around lake Garda. Very popular is the ·Sagra dei osei· (Birds' Festival),in September which features bird-singing competitions, music shows, dancing and local food.
Festa dell'uva (Grape Festival) and Festa del Vino Novello Bardolino DOC (Festival of the new wine), which take place in October and November and are connected to the wine-making tradition.
"Gara delle Bisse" (competition among ancient streamlined lake boats with tapered ends, driven by five standing rowers), such as the popular "Bandiera del Lago" and the picturesque "Palio delle Contrade", melt folklore and sport.
Totally differentevents take place at the Verona Fair district, whose rapid development reflects the region's lively economy. Its famous trade fairs attract qualified national and international operators of different sectors such as: wine-making, logistics, furnishing, building and agriculturale.
